BCED, is accredited by the National Accreditation System (E.SY.D) as a Certification Body (Certificate Number 1022) in accordance with ISO / IEC Standard 17024.
It is the first body to submit and gain accreditation for certification schemes in general and specialized English, both in Greece and abroad.
E.SY.D. is set as the Greek National Accreditation Agency in accordance with the requirements of Article 4 of Regulation (EC) No. 765/2008, each Member State shall designate a single national accreditation body.
The European national accreditation bodies have formed the “European Cooperation for Accreditation” – “European co-operation for Accreditation” (EA), which coordinates and oversees their activities. Under the EA concluded Multilateral Agreements (Multilateral Agreements-MLAs) Equal Mutual Recognition of the activities of European accreditation bodies.
E.SY.D is one of the founding member of EA. Since March 2004 E.SY.D has become a signatory to the MLAs for Testing laboratories, calibration laboratories, inspection bodies and since March 2005 for the Certification Bodies for all provided services (certification of persons, products, management systems quality, environmental management systems), with obvious positive impact on recognition of E.SY.D accredited organizations and to strengthen the competitiveness of the national economy in general.
A direct consequence of the inclusion in MLA agreements is that national accreditation bodies of all European countries should support the acceptance in their country, test reports, certificates and certificates issued by accredited E.SY.D agencies and laboratories, and to recognize them as equivalent to the reports, certificates and certificates of laboratories and bodies have accredited themselves. The above recognition is automatically extended on a global scale, with the bilateral agreements in force between the EA and the accreditation bodies of industrially developed countries (USA, Canada, Japan, China, Australia, etc.).
